The chemical makeup of Stainless Steel 304H Sheets and Plates generally consists of Chromium (18–20%), Nickel (8–12%), and a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) compared to the 304 and 304L grades. It also contains Manganese (up to 2%), Silicon (up to 1%), and small amounts of Phosphorus and Sulfur (up to 0.03%). This increased carbon content enhances high-temperature strength while still maintaining corrosion resistance. In terms of mechanical properties, 304H stainless steel boasts a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, a yield strength close to 205 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 40%, making it ideal for structural applications that face heat and pressure.
